Awards for GP at Gardening Scotland
It may be the 18th year of Gardening Scotland, but the inaugural entry for GP Plantscape in the floral display, so we were delighted to have won not just one but two awards – Gold and Best New Comer – for our interpretation of the green office pictured below.
The design included an office desk dressed with moss, a live picture as a back drop, a carpet of grass all surrounded by an array of tropical plants. With only three days to set up the teams were under pressure to ensure the garden looked immaculate for the judges and the shows visitors, but with sheer hard work and determination the creation grew to its full glory in time for the opening. A fantastic feat of work in the time available to the team.
For three days in June, the grounds of the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh undergo a transformation in an explosion of scent and colour. This is Gardening Scotland – the national gardening and outdoor living Show and Scotland’s gardening festival. The show this year gave GP Plantscape the opportunity to be involved in two different displays, the first being our green office espousing the benefits of plants in the office described above, but GP Plantscape also contributed to the BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) exterior garden, designed by Lynn Hill and themed around the tangible garden as an extension to your living space which also won a Silver Guilt and Best New Show Garden.
Whilst it was somewhat heartbreaking to dismantle our garden we hope to recreate some of the interior floral display back at our nursery in Lanark. So until next year…………..
