Living Wage Accredited

GP Plantscape has voluntarily joined over 7,000 UK businesses to become an accredited Living Wage employer.

As a service delivery company, employees at GP Plantscape are the heart and soul of our business. For many years we have worked under the principles of what we call ‘The GP Way’. A set of values underpinning our approach to everything we do, in turn fostering a culture of autonomy, teamwork and respect for each other, contributing ultimately to excellent service.

Our values are largely about doing the ‘right thing’ and so becoming a Living Wage employer made perfect sense – a decision based on fairness and ethics.

At GP we value every single member of our team and we want to ensure they receive a fair wage for the dedication and commitment they give to the Company every day.

The past year has been extremely turbulent for many businesses and the team at GP Plantscape have had to pull together and increase efforts to ensure minimal disruption to service delivery throughout the pandemic. This they have done with a fortitude and determination that has been outstanding.

By making a positive difference in the lives of our employees we also hope they will ultimately be happier at work, perform even better for our customers and be more likely to stay with us in the long term. Attracting new talent to the business will be a further added benefit.

Russell Dickson, interior service technician, said: “I feel more valued as an employee and outside of work I can now do more of the things I love with my family. I think it is a really good move for the company as it will only help boost staff morale across the board.”

The real Living Wage is set each year by the Living Wage Foundation and is based on the cost of living, calculated based on what people need to get by.

“Incorporating biophilia in a recent hybrid pilot workspace for a client in Glasgow was such an important part of the jigsaw. The project included large trees, standing planters in various designs, shelf planters and two bespoke moss walls. The exterior courtyard also underwent a transformation including power washing the paving, sanding and painting of the exterior furniture, new gravel, a new Astro turf putting green and various planters with lovely biophilia displays. The feedback has been fantastic and people have been raving about it from a senior level. A big thanks to all the team at GP who were a great support and pulled out all the stops to ensure completion on time.”
Susan Houston, Sales Support Manager , Apleona
