Some non-native plants, such as Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed and Himalayan Balsam can overcome vegetation native to the area and monopolise large swathes of land.
These invasive species can cause extensive damage to property and the environment, while some may be damaging to human and animal health. The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 makes it an offence to cause these plants to grow wild and left unattended they may spread quickly to neighboring land.
GP Plantscape technicians are trained to identify invasive species and qualified operatives can eradicate such plants using stem injection.
The treatment method can also be performed in all weather and healthy plants can be dealt with quickly in just one growing season.
