So, you’re committed to improving wellbeing for your staff both physically and psychologically by adding nature to the indoor environment, a sensible move.
Plants are not only a key element in biophilic office design, but internal greenery is also very much on trend and will help you attract top talent to the workplace as well as impress visiting clients.
However, now you’re faced with another decision: Should I buy or should I rent my plants?
We’ve pulled together this quick guide to help you evaluate the choices and be clear about the best option for your organisation.
Purchase
- Budgets – As part of a refurbishment, office move or build project, interior plants are often included in the project budget, hence buying your displays becomes a viable option. Any ongoing contractual costs would also be lower, on a shorter maintenance only option.
- Cash – Buying your plant displays will require full payment on installation of the displays, but if you have money in the bank and owning the asset works for your business model, then purchasing may be an attractive proposition with no contracts are required.
- Cost – If your decision is driven by keeping the cost down, purchasing your plant displays is a better option economically, with displays working out slightly cheaper than those on a three-year rental and maintenance contract.
- Maintenance – Once you buy your plants, they’re yours, no contract, and you can choose to look after them however you please. With no requirement to enter a maintenance contract, effectively you could water, clean, feed and prune the plants yourself, or even ask another landscape company to carry out the maintenance 🥲 Not that you would.
- Contract – While purchasing your plant displays does avoid the requirement for a contract to be signed, we can add on a two-year maintenance contract. Our interior plant technicians will then tend to your plants every three weeks to ensure they thrive and the agreement includes plant replacement.
Rental
- Pay as you go – Plant display rentals are supplied on a three-year contract and invoiced quarterly in advance, allowing your business to spread the cost over the contract term with no initial capital outlay.
- Maintenance is a must – All rental contracts include plant maintenance, so all you need to do is watch your greenery grow under the expert care of your dedicated interior landscape technician.
- Contract conclusion – When the three-year term comes to an end you have 4 options:
- Refresh your displays with new pots and plants on a revised contract
- Renew your existing contract, retaining the displays in situ
- Revise your contract with a mixture of exiting displays and new displays
- Decide to have all your plants removed with no additional charges
- Early exit 🤔 – If circumstances required you to want to have your plants removed and the contract terminated before it’s run its term an exit fee would apply.
Regardless of whether you decide to buy or rent your plant displays, our expert team will install your chosen solution with care, precision and professionalism, bringing a biophilic transformation to your indoor environment.
