GP Plantscape provide a variety of services on site at Tanfield. Flexible, modern office suites in central Edinburgh, including exterior and interior landscaping maintenance.

Interior Landscaping

GP Plantscape were commissioned originally by Savills Commercial Ltd. during the transformation of Tanfield in 2009 and worked in collaboration with Iona J Colquhoun at IJC Asset Management in Edinburgh. The building was completely refurbished, providing a bright, airy and contemporary office space. Working on the architect’s ideas and impressions to create a tree lined avenue, GP Plantscape provided their horticultural expertise to deliver the desired vision. The physical installation involved planting the specimen trees into the purpose-built floor pits with trees requiring root balls to fit this space along with adequate room to grow. Eight 4metre high Ficus Fibrosa specimen trees were installed in floor pits that provide individual watering systems to best maintain the trees’ health. Our own GP Green Recycling compost was used providing an organic and nutritious source of nourishment.

GP Plantscape provide regular maintenance of the Ficus Fibrosa specimen trees in the atrium. Each of the trees are provided with their own self watering system which regulates their water reservoir which allows the maintenance technicians to monitor the requirements of each individual specimen ensuring the correct amount of water is received and each trees feeding can be regulated.

Exterior Landscaping

GP Plantscape also provide exterior landscaping maintenance at ground level and on the 4th floor roof garden. General exterior maintenance of the lower ground includes sections of lawns, mature shrubs, along with maintenance of trees that are protected under strict planning conditions.
Tanfield’s impressive and extensive roof garden incorporates several lawn areas along with a variety of shrubs and plants and due to its complex landscape construction, maintenance requires frequent visits with high attention to detail.
